If you are looking to take your own boat abroad, many countries now insist on the ICC as a formal qualification for at least one person on board. The 2 day course and assessment covers boat handling, theory, man overboards, and everthing you need to safely operate an open powerboat up to 10m in length.
Some companies also specify the ICC as a minimum qualification for hiring boats abroad - often you are allowed a more powerful/larger craft if you have an ICC.
We can also offer the CEVNI endorsement to the ICC, which is essential if you wish to travel the inland waterways. We will include some training over the 2 days, and the actually CEVNI exam itself is a short written paper.
If you don't wish to take our two day training course and just wish to come in for either the practical exam or the CEVNI, we can do this also. We are often able to carry out CEVNI tests midweek at very short notice.
ICC: International Certificate of Competence
CEVNI: European Code for Inland Waterways, Code Europeen des Voies de la Navigation Interieure
